Wednesday, March 25 from 5:30 PM till 7:00 PM, the Wells Group will be hosting a seminar geared to the first time home buyer and the benefits of the $8000 tax credit in particular. According to the new legislation, first time homebuyer is defined as anyone who has not owned a primary residence in the last three years. That is, you might own five rental properties but are still living with mom and dad you would still qualify so long as you did not own a primary residence in those three years.
There will be an accountant present to discuss in greater detail the benefits of homeownership from a tax perspective plus you will get more information on the $8000 tax credit. Quite simply, that is free money that the feds are willing to give you, assuming you qualify. In addition, there will be two lenders present to explain the mortgage process, various loan products that are available, and how your credit score will affect your interest rate.
John Wells from our office will be presenting information from the broker's point of view and we'll discuss some possible properties. Several Wells Group brokers will be present to help you in addition to the Q&A session that will be held at the end of the evening.
